An obelisk and sphinx statues brought from Egypt in 1878 to commemorate the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte.
One of a pair, the other is in Central Park in New York. There is some damage to one of the Sphynx and a plaque in remebrance of the first night bombing by German Gotha aircraft in the first world war.
